The Western region PAYSCO 2025 ends with many students renewing their lives in Christ.
The Ankole Diocese Bishop, Rt. Rev. Assoc. Prof. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa, officiated at the closing ceremony and delivered a message of appreciation and encouragement.
In his remarks, the Bishop thanked His Grace the Archbishop, the Provincial Youth Coordinator, the Provincial Mission Coordinator, the Provincial Secretariat and all participants who travelled from across the country. He also extended special appreciation to the host team from Bishop Stuart University, Mbarara High School and Ankole Diocese. He further commended the Vice Chancellor, Prof. John Mugisha, describing him as both a preacher and an academician, whose leadership continues to transform the University.
The Bishop announced that delegates who attended PAYSCO 2025 and obtained four aggregates will be eligible for a scholarship.
Speaking with fatherly love, he encouraged them to test for HIV before marriage. He also advised young people to reduce their consumption of junk food in order to maintain good health. Above all, he called on the youth to receive Christ, testifying that giving his life to Christ became the turning point of his own journey.
He challenged the youth to remain focused, to avoid distractions and to imitate Jesus Christ while listening to the counsel of born-again elders.
During the same ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Bishop Stuart University announced a 50% scholarship on tuition of the 1st Semester for all those who have physically attended PAYSCO 2025. He assured the young people that BSU would continue standing with them, even as the next PAYSCO heads to Mbale
