Provincial Youth and Students Ministry
The Provincial Youth and Students Ministry is a key arm of the Church of Uganda Youth and Students Department, mandated to coordinate, strengthen, and support youth and student ministry across all dioceses. .
Provincial Youth and Students Ministry
The Provincial Youth & Students Ministry is the official youth arm of the Church of Uganda, dedicated to discipling, equipping, and mobilizing young people for holistic transformation. Rooted in the Church’s long history of youth involvement—from the early converts and martyrs of the 1880s to the vibrant fellowships of today—the ministry continues to affirm that young people are central to the life and mission of the Church.
Youth in the Church of Uganda are defined as persons between the ages of 12 and 35 years, a demographic that represents the majority of Uganda’s population. To serve them effectively, the ministry recognizes three distinct categories: Teens (12–17), Youth (18–23), and Young Adults (24–35). Each group has unique needs and opportunities, and the ministry provides specialized programs to nurture their spiritual growth, leadership capacity, and social empowerment.
The vision of the Provincial Youth & Students Ministry is clear: Christ‑centred young people transforming nations. Its mission is to intentionally disciple young people for holistic growth and productivity. This means that youth ministry is not limited to worship and fellowship, but extends to leadership development, employability, advocacy, and community transformation.
The ministry is structured to ensure youth participation at every level of the Church—from local congregations and chaplaincies to diocesan synods and the Provincial Assembly. Leadership committees, guided by ordained youth pastors, ministers, and elected youth leaders, provide governance and pastoral oversight. At the provincial level, the Directorate of Youth and Children’s Ministry coordinates programs, supported by advisory and technical teams.

About Us
A Word from the Archbishop
I give thanks to Almighty God for the continued growth and commitment of the youths and students of the Church of Uganda. You are a vital part of the Church today, not merely the leaders of tomorrow. Your energy, creativity, and faith are essential in advancing God’s mission in our communities and nation.
I commend the Youth and Students Department, diocesan leadership, youth workers, and all partners for their dedication in nurturing young people through discipleship, mentorship, and leadership development. Initiatives such as the Provincial Annual Youths and Students Convention (PAYSCO) play a significant role in shaping character, strengthening faith, and fostering unity among our youths and students.
Our Services

Rooted in the Church’s mission and guided by the reviewed Youth Policy, our services are tailored to meet the spiritual, social, and leadership needs of youth across Uganda.
Discipleship & Spiritual Growth
We are committed to nurturing young people into mature followers of Christ. Through confirmation classes, youth fellowships, life groups, and chaplaincy programs, we create spaces for intentional discipleship. Our approach emphasizes doing life together—worshiping, sharing, serving, and growing in faith. Every youth is encouraged to discover their identity in Christ and live out their calling in everyday life..
Leadership Development
We believe that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are leaders today. Our ministry provides structured leadership training at all levels of the Church, from local congregations to the Provincial Assembly. We run resource centres, mentorship programs, and offer scholarships through an education fund to equip emerging leaders for strategic influence in Church, community, and governance..
Youth in Mission
Young people are actively involved in the mission of the Church. We organize monthly Youth Sundays where youth lead worship, preach, and serve. We also facilitate mission teams at parish, diocesan, and provincial levels, deploying youth for outreach both locally and internationally. Our goal is to raise a generation of mission-minded believers who carry the Gospel into every sphere of society.
Talent Development & Worship Arts
We celebrate the gifts and creativity of young people. Our ministry supports worship teams, performing arts groups, and other talent-based initiatives. We provide platforms for youth to express their faith through music, drama, dance, and visual arts, helping them grow in confidence and purpose while glorifying God.
Chaplaincy & Institutional Ministry
We provide pastoral care and discipleship in schools, universities, and other learning institutions. Our chaplaincy services ensure that students are spiritually supported throughout their academic journey. We also use tertiary institutions as hubs for training youth leaders from across the country, leveraging their diversity for national impact..
Advocacy & Community Engagement
We engage society with kingdom principles to protect, provide for, and promote youth participation. Our ministry advocates for youth-friendly policies within the Church, government, and civil society. We also run community transformation projects, health empowerment campaigns, and gender equality initiatives to improve the quality of life for young peo
